RON SHIMKUS

President | CEO

Ron co-founded Electrostar in 2010. He manages Electrostar’s daily operations including personnel and resource allocation and oversees the company’s financial and administrative activities.  Ron directs strategic logistical planning for complex commercial and industrial losses.

Ron began his career on Wall Street and became a floor trader on the American Stock Exchange in 1984.  Following 7 years on the floor, Ron became a trader and consultant for hedge funds in New York, Chicago and Houston. Ron later became involved in real estate, focusing on redevelopment of distressed and underperforming assets.  He gained critical experience in project oversight, including management of subcontractors, purchasing and cost-benefit analysis leading to successful completion of multiple projects.  These endeavors have helped to sharpen Ron’s ability to quickly analyze and solve complex problems.

Ron is a native of Houston, TX and graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.  Ron currently serves on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Southside Place and has been a licensed Texas Realtor© since 1999.

jENNIFER ANDERSON

Managing Director

In 2010, Jennifer founded Electrostar and grew it from 2 technicians doing residential electronics restoration into one of the largest Electronics and Industrial Restoration specialists in the South.  She has overseen projects for companies such as National Oilwell Varco and ToolFlo Manufacturing (a Berkshire Hathaway Company) where tens of millions of dollars’ worth of equipment were recovered and placed back in service for pennies on the dollar after devastating fires shut down production.  She has expanded Electrostar’s reach into schools, churches, hospitals, hotels and restaurants. 

In 2014, Jennifer made the commitment to invest in infrastructure that included a new facility, a nationally recognized General Manager, and the creation of a mobile platform that enables Electrostar to respond to large losses anywhere in the US. That infrastructure is now complete and the platform is operational.

Jennifer has been a licensed Texas attorney since 1992.  She is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science.  Jennifer serves as Councilwoman for the City of Southside Place.

CORNELIO TORRES

Senior Vice President Technical Director

Torres brings Electrostar 17+ years of experience in the consumer electronics, commercial technology, medical and machinery restoration industry. He has managed dozens of disaster recovery projects for companies like Temple Inland, Olympus NDT, Verizon, US Cellular, AT&T, and Johnson & Johnson.

Torres was a Master Instructor at the Certified Technology Restorer™ (CTR) program where he provided hands-on training in the art and science of electronics restoration.
